SOP development · Knowledge management

Procedures people can find, trust and actually use.

Standard operating procedures should explain the work—not become another folder employees avoid. Build current, usable instructions with clear owners and exception handling.

The difference between having SOPs and having a knowledge system

Documentation fails when it is inconsistent, impossible to search, or disconnected from real work. A great SOP tells a person where to start, which inputs to check, which decisions they own, where exceptions go and when the process is complete.

Knowledge management makes those procedures accessible, organized and maintainable. For a remote team, that might mean improving a SharePoint library, reorganizing shared documentation, creating role-based guidance or establishing a clearer approval and revision process.

Experience building documentation at enterprise scale

In corporate operations I created more than 50 training and process resources across improvement work and helped build and maintain a SharePoint knowledge system. I've delivered knowledge transfer across six teams, learning what different roles need from the same process.

That experience informs how I organize job aids, role guides, step-by-step instructions, cross-team handoffs, checklists and knowledge-base structures. I don't assume one giant document will solve a communication problem.

What you receive when SOP development is included

The What Next? Package combines the 10-hour diagnostic with at least 15 additional hours of redesign and SOP development. Typical output may include future-state process maps, step-by-step approved procedures, responsibility matrices, exceptions and escalation pathways, and an organized handoff plan.

Training videos and system cleaning/data transition are optional add-ons. The exact number of SOPs, workflows, interviews, and revision rounds is agreed in your proposal.

How everything can be done remotely

Employees demonstrate routine work during video meetings, using test or redacted examples when appropriate. I review approved source documentation, map the process and develop drafts for stakeholder review. No onsite attendance is needed.
